Our Positions
Division Leaders + Assistant Division Leaders
Division Leaders are educators who supervise a grade level at camp, guiding both the Counselors and the campers in their division. They build the daily schedule for their groups, coach and mentor their Counselors, and get to know every camper and family in their division. When a camper needs extra support, a Counselor has a question, or a parent calls, the Division Leader is the go-to person. Assistant Division Leaders work side by side with the Division Leader and help keep every group running smoothly throughout the day. These roles are a great fit for teachers, school counselors, and experienced camp staff who love working with kids and leading young adults.
Senior Counselors + Counselors
Counselors are the big brothers and sisters of camp. Each group has Senior Counselors and Counselors who stay with the same campers all summer, supported by their Division Leader and Assistant Division Leader. For most campers, a great Counselor means a great summer. Counselors join their group at every activity, assist the Specialists, and give campers encouragement and support from morning arrival to afternoon dismissal. Counselors are entering 11th grade; Senior Counselors are entering 12th grade or are in college. Want to earn a little more? Ask about working as a Bus Counselor or in our before care and after care programs.
Specialists + Instructors
Sports, arts and crafts, ceramics, woodworking, jewelry making, music, dance, drama, theater, STEAM, robotics, coding, rocketry, cooking, archery, climbing, and more. Specialists lead each activity area with the help of Counselors and Division Leaders, planning lessons that are fun, safe, and right for each age group. Specialists are usually teachers or professionals with experience working with children. Instructors are usually teachers or college students who bring a skill or passion they love to share.
Lifeguards + Swim Instructors
Our aquatics team keeps campers safe in the pool and helps every swimmer build skills and confidence, from first-time swimmers to our swim team. All pool staff must be at least 16 years old and hold current Lifeguard and CPR certifications, and Swim Instructors should hold Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification. Camp Moxie reimburses the cost of a Lifeguard certification course taken within the past six months.
Wellness Center Staff
Our Wellness Center is staffed every camp day by licensed medical professionals: Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Paramedics, Registered Nurses (RNs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and Doctors (MDs). Our health team cares for campers and staff, administer medications, manage allergy and health plans, and work closely with Division Leaders and families to keep everyone healthy all summer.
Staff Photographer + Staff Videographer
Camp Moxie is a screen-free camp, so families count on us to share their campers' summer with them. Our Staff Photographer and Staff Videographer capture the moments that make camp special, from color war cheers to a first jump off the diving board, and turn them into photos and videos for families and for Camp Moxie. If you have a good eye, a camera you know inside and out, and a portfolio to share, we'd love to see your work.
Support Staff
Behind-the-scenes staff are just as important as the people working directly with campers. Our support team includes:
- Office Staff help families, manage paperwork and attendance, and keep camp organized every day.
- Kitchen Staff prepare fresh meals on site in our kosher kitchen, with care for every allergy and dietary need.
- Kosher Kitchen Assistant works alongside our Chef and Mashgiach to keep our kitchen kosher under JSOR supervision, helping with checking produce, overseeing kosher food preparation, and keeping meat, dairy, and parve separate. This position is for an applicant who is Shomer Shabbat and familiar with the laws of kashrut.
- Maintenance Staff keep our fields, pool, buildings, and equipment clean, safe, and ready for campers.
- Bus Drivers with a valid CDL get campers to and from camp safely each day. Some of our drivers work directly for Camp Moxie, and others drive for our bus company partner.
