Dates & Enrolling
What ages does Camp Moxie serve?
Camp Moxie serves children from 18 months through grade 10. Camp is made up of two divisions: Mini Moxie, for children 18 months to 5 years, and Moxies, for grades 1–10, including LIT (grade 9) and CIT (grade 10). Two divisions, one camp: Camp Moxie.
When is the 2027 season?
Camp runs for eight weeks, Monday, June 28, through Friday, August 20, 2027, for a total of 37 camp days. Camp is closed Monday, July 5 (Independence Day, observed), Thursday, July 22 (Fast of the 17th of Tammuz), and Thursday, August 12 (Tisha B’Av). Campers may enroll for the full 8 weeks, the first or second 6 weeks, or the first or second 4 weeks. See Dates & Tuition.
How do I enroll?
It’s easy! Register online in CampSite. A $500 deposit per camper saves your spot. It’s part of your tuition, not an extra charge, and it’s non-refundable. See our Register page.
How much does camp cost?
Tuition depends on your camper’s program and weeks. Campers may enroll for 4, 6, or 8 weeks. You’ll find every rate, plus a tuition calculator, on our Dates & Tuition page.
Are there discounts?
Yes. We offer a sibling discount, a 2027 Founding Family discount, a discount for Deal and Ocean Township municipal employees, and a discount for active military, police, fire, and EMTs. Details are on our Dates & Tuition page.
What if our plans change?
We understand that plans change. If you cancel before April 1, we’ll refund your tuition minus the $500 deposit. After April 1, we’re unable to offer refunds or credits. See the full policy on our Register page.
Can I use a dependent care FSA or the dependent care tax credit?
Many families can. Day camp for children under 13 may qualify for the federal Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit when you pay for care so that you can work or look for work, and many families use a Dependent Care FSA for camp tuition. Please check with your tax advisor about your eligibility.
The Camp Day
Do campers need to bring a towel?
No! Towel service is included for every camper. We provide fresh, dry towels for every swim, every day, so there’s nothing to pack and no wet towels coming home. One less load of laundry every night!
What are camp hours?
Moxies runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mini Moxie hours vary by age; see our Mini Moxies page. Before care begins at 8:00 a.m. See Transportation + Care.
Is transportation available?
Yes! Central-stop busing is included with tuition. Prefer pickup at your front door? Door-to-door service is available within our pickup area for an additional fee, and it’s included for Mini Moxies ages 3–5. Mini Moxies ages 18 months to 2 years are dropped off and picked up by a parent or caregiver. And families who drive receive a tuition credit. Moxies drop-off is 8:30–8:45 a.m., and pick-up is 4:15–4:30 p.m. See Transportation + Care.
Will there be before and after care?
Yes. Before care begins at 8:00 a.m., and after care runs until 5:00 p.m. every camp day. See Transportation + Care.
What should my camper bring?
A bathing suit worn under camp clothes, sneakers, and a backpack with a second bathing suit, closed-toe water shoes (no Crocs, please, since they float!) or slides, their own labeled sunscreen, underwear and socks to change into after their last swim, and a refillable water bottle. No towel needed, since towel service is included, and so are lunch and snacks. Please label everything with your child’s first and last name in permanent marker.
Can campers bring cell phones or smartwatches?
Camp is a happy break from screens! Phones, smartwatches, and other connected devices stay home, so campers can be fully present with their friends. Read our full policy on our Screen-Free Summer page.
What happens when it rains?
Camp is open rain or shine! Along with our beautiful outdoor facilities, our indoor facilities include an Olympic-size indoor pool and indoor program areas, so the fun continues whatever the weather.
What are Special Events?
Every day at camp feels a little special, and some days are extra special, from Crazy Hair Day to Wacky Water Day, Carnival, and Color War. Camp-wide special events take place on Wednesdays. See Special Events.
Health & Food
Who takes care of my child’s health at camp?
Licensed medical professionals staff our Wellness Center every camp day, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and we’ll always call you if your camper isn’t feeling well. See Health & Safety.
Is lunch included? Is it kosher?
Yes. Every camper enjoys a hot lunch and two snacks each day, prepared fresh on site in our kosher kitchen under JSOR supervision. We are a nut-free camp, we serve water to drink, and gluten-free, vegetarian, and allergy accommodations are available. See Food at Camp.
What happens on my child’s birthday?
We celebrate birthdays at lunch with a special treat, and we promise to make your camper’s big day a big deal! Because we care about our campers with food allergies, we ask that you not send birthday treats or other food from home. We’ll take care of the celebrating!
How does Camp Moxie handle bullying?
At Camp Moxie, every child belongs, and we don’t tolerate bullying of any kind, in person or online. Our staff are trained to prevent it and step in early, and our leadership team takes every concern seriously. Read our full approach to bullying.
