Welcome to the Camp Moxie family! Sending your child to camp for the first time is a big step, and we are here to make it a happy one. Here is what you can look forward to, from the first hello to the last day of summer.
Getting Started: How to Register
Signing up is quick and easy, and it all happens online through CampSite.
- Review our 2027 dates and tuition.
- Create your family account in CampSite.
- Choose your camperβs program, weeks, and transportation.
- Fill out your camperβs health and camper forms. Weβll send you reminders when theyβre due.
A $500 non-refundable deposit per camper is due when you register, and it is part of your tuition, not an extra charge. If you register on or after April 1, payment in full is due at registration. Youβll find the full details on our Register page. Questions along the way? Weβre always happy to help.
Before Camp
Before camp begins, your childβs Division Leader will give you a call. Your Division Leader is the educator who oversees your camperβs group and guides their Counselors all summer long, and this call is your chance to ask questions, share anything that will help us get to know your child, and hear the latest camp news.
In June, a couple of weeks before camp, we invite each grade to an evening Meet and Greet. Your camper will meet their Counselors and Division Leader, enjoy some fun activities, and start making new friends before the first day even arrives. Then, on the Sunday before camp begins, we open the whole camp to all of our families for Moxie Sneak Peek, our pre-camp celebration, complete with food, activities, and rides on the zipline. Itβs the perfect way to kick off the summer together!
In May, as the weather warms up, we welcome families to set up play dates at Camp Moxie, and we are happy to help make them happen. A few visits go a long way toward helping campers feel excited and at home before camp starts.
We also host open houses throughout the year, where campers can do projects, see friends, and bake something yummy to eat. We will send you a reminder before each one.
During Camp
Whether your camper arrives by bus or by car, or joins us for extended hours starting at 8:00 a.m., our leadership team will be there with a smile to welcome them. (Learn more on our Transportation + Care page.) Before the day begins, we take attendance, collect lunch orders, and check in with every camper, so each day starts off on the right foot.
Every day includes two swims. Each morning, campers in grade 6 and younger have instructional swim, while campers in grade 7 and older choose from fun swim electives. Every afternoon, everyone enjoys free swim. Swim lessons are taught only by certified Water Safety Instructors (WSIs), using the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program, so your camper is learning from the best. Learn more on our Aquatics page.
No one goes hungry at Camp Moxie! Each camper enjoys a morning snack, a hot lunch, and an afternoon snack of fresh fruit, parve ice pops, and pretzels, plus ice cream on dairy days.
Every day at camp feels a little special, and some days are extra special. Think Crazy Hair Day, Silly Sunglasses Day, Team Tuesday, and so much more, plus big events like Wacky Water Day, Carnival, and Color War. Our special events change every year, and you will receive a calendar with all the details so your camper can join in the fun.
The First Day of Camp
βWhat happens on the first day?β is one of the questions we hear most, and we love answering it! Children feel most comfortable when they know what to expect, so we follow the same routine every day. On the first day, groups spend time getting to know one another, campers pick their electives for the week, and everyone gets a quick head check from our Nurses.
From then on, every day includes two swims, a hot lunch, and two snacks. Our even-week and odd-week schedule means campers get to enjoy different activities every week, including arts and crafts, robotics, ceramics, basketball, soccer, softball and T-ball, the zipline and ropes course, archery, jewelry making, ping-pong, street hockey, golf, pickleball, and so much more! Campers entering grades 3β9, including our Trip Program and LIT campers, also choose their own electives each week, so they can return to old favorites or discover something new.
Sample Daily Schedule
Here are real examples of a week for a first grade group and a sixth grade group. Every groupβs schedule is a little different, but every day is full of variety, two swims, lunch, and snacks!

What to Bring to Camp
We like to make packing easy! Every summer, each camper receives a brand-new Camp Moxie backpack. Campers receive their camp T-shirt on Picture Day. Campers in our Trip Program, LIT (grade 9), and CIT (grade 10) receive theirs on their first trip.
Each day, please send your camper with:
- A bathing suit worn under their camp clothes
- Sneakers for the day (campers can switch for the walk to the pool)
- Their backpack, with a second bathing suit, closed-toe water shoes (no Crocs, please, since they float!) or slides, and their own sunscreen with their name written on it
- Underwear and socks to change into after their last swim of the day
- A water bottle, which they can refill at our water fillers throughout the day
Please apply sunscreen before camp, and we will reapply it throughout the day. Thereβs no need to pack a towel, because we take care of that for you. One less load of laundry every night!
Please label everything with your childβs first and last name in permanent marker, including their sunscreen.
Phones, smartwatches, and other connected devices stay home: Camp Moxie is a screen-free camp. Learn why on our Screen-Free Summer page.
Staying in Touch
At Camp Moxie, we believe there is no such thing as too much communication. You will receive texts and emails about upcoming events, forms that are due, and important dates, along with updates on everything happening at camp. And our Camp Directors are always happy to take your call or answer your email, whenever you need us.
Health and Wellness
Your camperβs health and safety come first. Licensed medical professionals staff our Wellness Center every camp day. If your camper needs an EpiPen or daily medication, our health team will administer it during camp and keep all medications safely in a locked cabinet. Youβll complete your camperβs health forms online in your CampSite account, and weβll need them before the first day so weβre ready to care for your child. Learn more about our Wellness Center, medications, and allergy care on our Health & Safety page.
A Safe, Kind Community
At Camp Moxie, every child belongs. We do not tolerate bullying, and our staff work hard to build groups where every camper feels included, respected, and comfortable talking to a trusted adult whenever something doesnβt feel right. You can read more about emotional safety and our approach to bullying on our Health & Safety page.
We canβt wait to meet your family and share a wonderful summer together!
