CURIOSITY. COURAGE. COMMUNITY.
For years, JCC Jersey Shore’s preschool camp has been a summer favorite for our youngest campers. Now our JCC is growing it into a full day camp, with programs made just right for every age and stage, from first camp friends to first leadership roles.
More choice, more independence, and more adventure as campers grow.
EXPLORE MOXIES →Values aren’t a poster on the wall. Here’s what they look like at camp.
“Older campers walk the Mini Moxies to the pool.”
“A high-five and a hello, by name, at the bus every morning.”
“Every camper gets a turn, and every turn gets cheered.”
“A new friend saves a seat for the camper eating alone.”
“Groups make thank-you cards for the kitchen staff.”
Three strengths every camper builds at Camp Moxie.
We try new things, explore our interests, and discover what we can do.
We take the next step, even when something feels new or challenging.
We build meaningful friendships and create a place where everyone belongs.
Sports, aquatics, arts, science, adventure, special events,
and so much more!

Be part of our first summer as Camp Moxie! Every family who enrolls for 2027 becomes a Founding Family, saving $100 on Moxies tuition every summer you come back.
Camp Moxie is JCC Jersey Shore’s own summer camp. For years, our JCC’s preschool camp has been a place where our youngest campers learn, grow, and shine, led by Raquel Dayan, Director of JCC Youth Services, and Marni Gindi. Now our JCC is growing, and so is our camp. In 2027, it becomes Camp Moxie and opens to campers age 18 months to 10th grade. Camp Moxie is the first full-service traditional Jewish day camp at the Jersey Shore, co-ed and rooted in Jewish values.
To lead that growth, our JCC has brought in camp directors with decades of experience. Barry Wasserman, Director of JCC Camp Operations, and Ruth Ann Weiss led Eagle’s Landing Day Camp, an award-winning day camp in central New Jersey, for 14 summers, and their daughter, Hanna Wasserman, joins them as Assistant Director. Barry has also served on the Board of ACA New Jersey, a section of the American Camp Association, and Camp Moxie is proudly seeking ACA accreditation.
Before joining our JCC, Ruth Ann and Barry spent 14 summers leading Eagle’s Landing Day Camp. Here’s what parents there have to say.
“We found Ruth Ann and Barry during a huge transition for our family, with a new baby and a desperate need to find the right camp for our son, and they met us with kindness, compassion, and open hearts. Our son wasn’t just another camper to them: they took the time to understand him, showed him love and care, and created opportunities for him to feel special, comfortable, and truly welcomed.”
“Ruth Ann has such a special way of making every child feel seen, loved, and like they belong. Because of the warm and welcoming environment she creates, my kids have made lifelong friends and memories they will carry with them forever. They counted down all year until camp! Knowing they were surrounded by people who cared for them like family meant the world to us.”
“There’s no camp where I’d feel more comfortable sending a young camper than one led by Ruth Ann and Barry. Ruth Ann has a remarkable gift for truly seeing and caring about every child, and she made my kids feel at home from their very first day.”
